Canary Islands on winter: always warm and shiny!

If it is always nice to spend a few days on the beach under the sun, but when better than now when winter begins in Europe. Fir that nowhere better than the Canary Islands. We have already recommended them a few times, it is a place that we do love and is relatively close, only a 3 hours flight from Madrid. If you want to know more details of what to do there, others than lie on the beach and drink beer by the sea, what doesn't sound badly, do not forget to visit our posts on Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and La Gomera.

The temperature in the Canary Islands all year round varies little from the 25 celsius, it's never very cold or very hot, so it's perfect for anyone. In the westernmost islands such as El Hierro or La Palma, or even in northern Tenerife, you can see a few clouds from time to time and sometimes a shower, but further south and east, south of Gran Canaria, Maspalomas , Fuerteventura or Lanzarote, one could say that it almost never rains, the sun is guaranteed!

Keep in mind that the islands are a haven for relaxation, there are big cities like Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, but our advice is that you rent a rural house near the sea or the mountains and enjoy the nature. There are many agencies that can help finding country cottages in the Canaries, so you won't have any trouble finding something within your economic means.

Also you'd need to rent a car, and although we'd always recommend to compare and contrast, when we travel to the Canaries we use to rely on the local brand Cicar: they offer new cars, cheap prices and they are really trustworthy. No need to waste your time searching or your money on major companies like Avis o Europcar!
