Sierra de las Nieves awarded by the European Union

The Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park has been distinguished by the European Commission as European Destination of Excellence (EDEN), in recognition of his proposal for sustainable tourism. Close to Ronda (check Malaga & Costa del Sol) this park was also declared by UNESCO as part of Biosphere Reserve in 1995.

Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park encloses nine villages: Alozaina, Casarabonela, El Burgo, Guaro, Istan, Monda, Ojen, Tolox and Yunquera, with common cultural and physiographic features that have been configured as an identifiable area in the province of Malaga. The Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park is known for its beautiful scenery, good food, excellent climate and the warmth of their people. There is a wide selection of accommodation in the region, from the international up-scale style to the traditional cottages and most of them organize many activities.
