Caserio San Benito, fine restaurant and museum in a XVII century manor house

Caserio San Benito came up in 1991, although the project of restoration of the “cortijo” (typical Andalusian countryside manor house) started 20 years before. Since then, it has been a resounding success and now Caserio San Benito has become one of the most prestigious restaurants in Malaga province. This comes along with both a creative and traditional menu where quality is a standard. Rice with rabbit, Salmorejo, Crumbs, and porridge with fried bread and brown Honey, are good examples.

Aguilar de la Frontera, deep Spain in the middle of Andalusia

In the mid between Cordoba and Malaga, located on a hill, Aguilar has a rich heritage. The castle in ruins reminds the dense medieval past of the town, while its old town centre is sprinkled with very interesting churches, most of them built between the XVI and XVIII. However, the most representative monument of Aguilar is the Plaza de San José, polygonal and beautifully crafted square.

Andujar, the oldest pilgrimage in Spain

It has a merciful legend that one night in mid-August, 1227, a bundle of light awakened a shepherd near the hill of Cabezo in the middle of Sierra Morena. From that light broke out the Virgin who asked the shepherd to build a sanctuary at that aside place for the faithful to venerate her. Startled by the apparition shepherd Juan Alonso de Rivas told what happened in Andujar. Three times the Virgin Mary appeared that summer and last healed the shepherd's arm as a proof of his goodness.
